Car Buying Service

Are you intimidated or afraid of trying to buy a used or a new car either from a private owner or a dealer and think you will get taken advantage of?  If you answered yes, then why not let a “pro” guide you every step of the way through the car buying and evaluation process?

I have many years of experience in:

  • buying and selling everyday passenger cars and SUV’s
  • buying and selling classic and collector cars
  • knowledge and experience in the restoration of classic cars
  • knowledge and experience in vehicle reconditioning and detailing
  • knowledge and experience in mechanical repairs and issues
  • knowledge and experience in vehicle safety and emissions inspections issues
  • how to look at a car and immediately spot issues and problems with it; such as body & paint work and signs of mechanical problems and issues; and how those directly relate to valuation and appraisal
  • how to analyze and interpret CarFax or other vehicle history reports and maintenance records for a vehicle
  • appraisal and valuation of tangible and real property
  • consumer credit and auto finance matters
  • Interstate vehicle sales transactions; titling, registration and vehicle inspection issues as well as ascertaining which state has proper jurisdiction to collect vehicle Sales & Use Tax (SUT) and/or reciprocity statutes governing "nonresident purchaser"
  • International vehicle sales transactions; customs and shipping
  • vehicle insurance matters and issues
  • vehicle warranty policies, terms and exclusions
  • negotiation skills and tactics - I have over 25 years as a Paralegal and am well versed at contract issues, pitfalls and latent “tricks” in contracts to deceive you and take advantage of you. I can protect and promote your best interests by thoroughly scrubbing through a contract or purchase order agreement with an individual or a dealer
  • highly skilled as a Sr. Communications Director to facilitate and navigate through any process
  • highly skilled at “the art of the deal” and the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) nuances and dynamics of interpersonal communication, cultural dynamics, and negotiation tactics and strategies
  • highly skilled at performing “due diligence”, “caveat emptor” (buyer beware) and other risk management mitigation and abatement reviews.  Not only should the vehicle itself be analyzed as a potential purchase prospect, but who and what the Seller is should be scrutinized as well1
  • tech savvy with knowledge and experience in marketing and advertising of vehicles

Don’t be “taken to the cleaners” when it comes to your hard earned money or let someone take advantage of you because of your lack of knowledge or ignorance and experience in the industry or in mechanical or vehicle ownership, operation or maintenance issues.  Why not let a “pro” be on your side to protect and promote your best interests in a transaction?

I can perform or assist you in any or all of the following incidental vehicle purchase steps or processes; either as an “à la carte” fee retainer, or as a total professional services package fee agreement:

  • assist you in the overwhelming, time consuming, resource draining, and arduous task of the search for your vehicle
  • provide you with, or personally conduct, the initial vehicle condition “questionnaire” check list with the Seller which I have developed to help you further cull or narrow the “suspects from the prospects”1
  • accompany you to any vehicle showing or preview, and advise you accordingly
  • assist you in putting together a “short list” of prospective vehicles to purchase
  • accompany you to or personally conduct the test drive on any prospective vehicle you are contemplating purchasing.  (I am able to spot vehicle deficiencies and problems on a test drive by listening to and evaluating the vehicles handling and performance characteristics and behaviors). A test drive, by the way, should be conducted in ALL normal driving speeds and conditions; a “short spin around the block” is NOT enough to adequately evaluate and “test” the vehicle properly
  • assist you in determining an opinion of value for the vehicle in determining whether to even make an offer on it at all; or if interested in making an offer (after having conducted the “due diligence”) what price to offer and how that offer should be presented and structured
  • assist you in performing a thorough and meticulous “scrubbing” and scrutinizing of all paperwork, contract agreements, addendum, terms, conditions, “promises”, etc throughout the entire course of the transaction - all the way to taking possession of the vehicle, to post-possession titling; registration, inspection, locality or municipal property tax registration, etc.
  • assist you in conducting any pre-delivery inspection
  • assist in the transport, travel, or vehicle acquisition logistics
