Best Way to Cool Your Living Space

  1. With regard to ceiling fans she (or the producer rather) forgot to mention which direction the fan blades should be rotating. To draw air up or be pushed down ? Can depend on where your air registers or vents are located too; whether the ducts are on the flower or lower wall or in the ceilings.... Should you be pushing hot air, which normally rises, down to be cooled with the cooler air being forced out of lower level ducts or registers, or ... pulling the cooler lower level air up to be mixed with and cool the hotter upper air ? I have done experiments both ways. It might "feel" cooler with the air blowing down, but depending on the living area and ventilation dynamics, it can also work well with ceiling fans pulling air up in the summer time too...
